Because of Tanoto Foundation

Some time ago we asked Tanoto Scholars about the benefits they get after they are awarded with Tanoto Foundation’s scholarships. Let’s see what they say.

1. Financial Support

Financial support is enjoyed by all Tanoto Foundation’s scholarship recipients. The aim is to ease the Scholar’s family’s or parent’s burden.

2. Character Building

You might not get this benefit when you are a scholarship recipient of another institution. In addition to financial support, we also provide training to build Tanoto Scholars’ skills such as public speaking or leadership.

3. Motivation

All Tanoto Scholars have a close relationship with each other. Through social media they share information or their achievements. These types of encouragement motivate the Scholars to continue to excel.

4. Social awareness

We give full support for social activities undertaken by Tanoto Scholars. This is in line with the belief of our founder, Sukanto Tanoto to “pay it forward.” Tanoto Scholars are encouraged to give back to their communities.

5. Networking

We work together with 35 universities in Indonesia in awarding the Tanoto Foundation’s Scholarships. During the annual event of Tanoto Scholars Gathering, the scholarship recipients gather together in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, to receive different training sessions and to get to know each other better.

6. Meeting Inspirational Figures

To develop their skills, Tanoto Scholars are trained by the relevant field’s experts or leaders. Through these events, they get to meet those who can inspire them further.

7. Opportunities for Internships

In implementing our 3-pillar activities (Education, Empowerment, and Enhancement), we work together with our corporate partners, APRIL and Asian Agri Group. Through this collaboration, Tanoto Scholars have the opportunities to do internships at one of our corporate partners.

8. Be The Pride of Parents and Relatives

Obtaining Tanoto Foundation’s Scholarships is not an easy matter as the scholarships are highly in demand and have rigorous selection process. However, as long as you continue to try to get it, nothing is impossible 🙂
