Learning from Children and Growing Together: Parenting Stories from Tasya Kamila

The Bincang Inspiratif podcast returns with another inspiring episode on parenting, education, and family health. In this episode, host Bayu Oktara engages in a heartfelt conversation with the multi-talented young mother, Tasya Kamila.
Known as a singer, songwriter, content creator, and environmental advocate, Tasya is also a mother of two: Arasya, aged 6, and Shafanina (Shanin), aged 2.5.
Despite her successful career and strong academic background—holding a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia and a master’s degree from Columbia University—Tasya describes motherhood as a full-time job that demands attention, patience, and commitment. She places high importance on early childhood education, including the critical role of early stimulation in laying the foundation for a child’s growth and development.
Learning Through Play: A Fan as a Literacy Tool
In this episode, Tasya shares an inspiring story of supporting her firstborn, Arasya, who has a deep fascination with electric fans. This interest became an entry point for various forms of early stimulation, from learning colors and numbers, to building logic through the functions of motors and capacitors, and even developing imagination through storytelling.
Beyond learning, these explorations also strengthen family bonds. Her husband, who has an engineering background, often joins in to satisfy Arasya’s curiosity, showing how parental collaboration plays an essential role in parenting and home-based learning.
Meanwhile, Tasya’s second child, Shanin, shows a different set of traits. She is more physically active and quick to develop her writing skills. Tasya realizes that even with similar parenting approaches and nutrition, each child grows in their own way and pace. It is therefore important for parents to keep learning and adapt their methods to ensure that early stimulation provided is both relevant and effective.
Through parenting, Tasya has come to understand that she is also learning and growing alongside her children. Every day becomes an opportunity to offer the right support, build emotional connections, and create an environment that nurtures optimal development.
